March 17, 2017

Hi all,
The date for our summer Listening Project has been established: Monday, August 7, 2017. Now is the time for you to talk about this opportunity and form a team from your Local.

What is there to gain?
  • A renewed enthusiasm for union engagement.
  • An understanding of what your Local can do in the face of uncertainty.
  • A commitment to building membership.
  • A PLAN for a fall membership drive.
Won't you feel lucky if you get a team together?

Peace
--Kathy Rohde
Regional Director
What's YOUR Best Story?

I'm a member because . . .

I cannot imagine not being a member. I have been a member of WEAC since 1975 - the fight was then; is now and always will be for public schools; our communities and our professional well being.

Wisconsin had a very impressive contingent last weekend at the NEA Education Support Professionals (ESP) Conference in Dallas. The NEA ESP conference is the premier professional development opportunity for Education Support Professionals across the nation. The goal of this conference is to enhance the skills and knowledge of ESP members to positively impact student achievement, build community relations, organize members, advocate for educators, build stronger locals, and help our members do their jobs better. Thanks to Denmark UE member Kay Hansen (pictured above, second from the right) for sharing this picture! Also pictured is De Pere ESP and WEAC Region 3 Executive Board member Sue Smits (third from right).

Knowing that it is possible to do well financially while doing good in the classroom can be very reassuring. Having a trusted resource that can help them start their career on the right financial foot is priceless.
