Welcome to the final few months of summer in Wisconsin. Did you see the golf outing photos? If not, read no further,
and check them out. What a spectacular event! Thank you again to all of the sponsors, volunteers, staff members and attendees for your participation, hard work and hard play. It took every one of you to make it possible.
This month's presidential rant is about all of the things you might consider to promote your business through our Chamber. Let's start with what I will call the little secrets that shouldn't be secrets since "it's included" with your membership. These are suggestions of things that, as a member, you can do today without costing an additional penny. Links are included so you can quickly view and consider these options. If you have further questions, do not hesitate to contact Brenda or Lisa in the office for additional information.
Update your Business Profile
- Did you know that you can post photos, videos, hyperlinks to your website and social sites all within your company profile? I was recently perusing the directory of our member businesses and it definitely can make a difference in showcasing your products or services. Click the link above to see an example of a company that has effectively leveraged all of the profile capabilities.
Job Postings
- Whether you are looking to hire or looking for a position, take advantage of this area. There are currently 11 positions posted. I suspect that there may be more available across our member base. If you have an opening, post it here to get some free publicity and branding for your company.
Member to Member
- Events & Promotions - Are you running a promotion or offering a special service for members? Post your good deals here. Do you have an upcoming event? Hint, some of these show up on the printed calendars distributed at GMM.
Member News
- Do you have a special announcement for the community? Post your press releases here. Are you looking to do business with a company? Do your homework first and read about any news or special events before you engage.
Attend the Events
- Whether you attend Ask the Expert, Business Social Hour, Economic Development, Get Moving Middleton, or a Trolley Tour, there are specific opportunities at all of these events for "connecting". Ambassadors, staff, and board members can be good resources if you are looking for a specific introduction. Don't hesitate to ask!
Call or Stop by the Office
- If you are looking for some more creative input, call Brenda, Lisa or Van. They will be happy to talk with you more specifically and possibly suggest ways you might get even more value from your membership.
Finally, there are some economical web, newsletter, and sponsorship activities you can discuss with our staff. More on that one later because I promised not to cost you an additional penny this month!
Have a great month!

Thank You From Business World

Each summer the Middleton Chamber provides scholarships for area high school students so that they may attend Business World. Students spend four days on a college campus exploring possible careers in the field of manufacturing, marketing, finance and IT, while working collaboratively in a business start-up competition.
"Thank you for this opportunity. I had a lot of fun and plan on coming next summer." - Andrea S.
"Thank you for sponsoring me to go to this wonderful business camp. I also thank you for helping young business people expand their learning." Aaron W.
"Thank you very much for providing me with this opportunity to experience the Business World Educational Program. Business is a career I will most likely pursue. Thank you very much for allowing me to attend this camp." Casey V
"Over the course of this camp, I have learned many things relating to business, a path in which I plan to pursue my education. If it wasn't for you, this would not have been possible. Thank you for allowing me to experience this camp." Umer S.
