Feature: Pasadena Earth & Arts Festival

Celebrate a world of nature, art and live music at the Pasadena Earth and Arts Festival, Saturday, April 14, from 11am to 5pm at Memorial Park and the Armory Center for the Arts, 145 N. Raymond Avenue. This year's master of ceremonies is noted author, performer and KPCC radio commentator Sandra Tsing Loh.
Marking its 10th anniversary as one of the biggest Earth Day events in the Southland, the free family festival features activities, exhibits and entertainment for all ages.
There are so many activities we don't know where to begin, so here are just a few of them:
- Live music from local bands, dancing and an interactive drum circle
- Kids and parents get creative with art workshops
- Eco-friendly exhibitors will display and sell green products and services
- Sample tasty treats from popular food trucks and a "Sustainable Beer Garden"
- Take part in a "skill share" swap meet
- Learn to jam your garden fruits
- Take a bicycle tour of Pasadena's sustainable sites
- Enter to win a smart Irrigation controller and landscape audit
- Enjoy an outdoor movie screening on the eve of the festival...

Touring internationally since 2008, Play Me, I'm Yours is an artwork by artist Luke Jerram. For three weeks beginning April 12, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra brings Play Me, I'm Yours to Los Angeles. Thirty pianos, designed and decorated by local artists and community organizations, are featured across Los Angeles County and are available for everyone to play, in celebration of acclaimed conductor and pianist Jeffrey Kahane's 15th anniversary as LACO music director.
One Colorado Courtyard will be host to one of the 30 pianos in the Play Me, I'm Yours installation opening on April 12 at noon with the "lunch launch". Thirty pianists kick off the installation with a simultaneous play-in of Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier at all 30 pianos. After that, the pianos are available to you and any member of the public to play and enjoy.
On Saturday, April 21, from 1:00-4:00pm, One Colorado invites you and your beloved pet to their Pet Day and Pet Beauty Contest with host Charles Phoenix . Glam up your pup & make your kitty pretty for the beauty contest and pet photos. For more info on registration...

Asylum Gym invites you to their official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Saturday, April 14 at 11am. Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard will be in attendance and give a short speech. Following the Ribbon Cutting, they will host a Wellness Day Event at the gym.
Pita Jungle Pasadena is providing healthy food options and New Balance will showcase fitness apparel. Trainers from Asylum Gym will give free workout demonstrations, and a nutritional counselor will offer free advice. There will be complimentary massage sessions, raffle prizes, and more.
Asylum Gym offers both state-of-the-art equipment combined with tried and true techniques for your success. They offer private instruction and several group programs including TROIKA, the evolution of group fitness instruction, designed by Herman Baptiste, founder and co-owner of Asylum Gym.

In January, the Pasadena Chamber began a series of free monthly informational seminars and workshops. Wired Wednesday is your opportunity to energize and invigorate your business with new ideas, helpful tips on a wide variety of topics, and practical advice on how to enhance your business success.
The free workshops are hosted at Kidspace at 480 North Arroyo Boulevard, near the Rose Bowl, in Pasadena. Free parking is available in Rose Bowl Parking Lot I.
