Public Presentation on Environmental Issues & Environmental Rights
Join the Canadian Environmental Law Association at the Paterson Auditorium in Lakehead University's Bora Laskin Faculty of Law (401 Red River Rd) for a free presentation. You will learn about:
  • Your health and indoor environmental contaminants
  • Energy costs and conservation
  • How to keep yourself informed about environmental issues in your community
  • How to get involved in land-use planning and other decisions that impact you

City Hall Sounds
Come visit us at one of this summer's City Hall Sounds lunch time events. EarthCare Thunder bay will have a booth, there will be live music,food trucks and other community partner booths.

Invasive Plant Yard Removal Information Session
Join EcoSuperior at the Central Gardens to learn about invasive plant species that may be growing in your own backyard. Then learn about alternative native plant species that you can grow to increase biodiversity in your garden. Take a tour of the Central Gardens demonstration gardens to get ideas for your own backyard. Take home a grow-me-instead guide and native wildflower seeds to get started on creating a more wildlife friendly backyard.

Registration is required for this workshop.

Creating Community Connections. Come and visit the animated Victoria Ave. East (between Brodie and May Street). There will be side-walk shopping, great food vendors, information booths and live entertainment. This event promotes local businesses and organizations. Be part of building a safe community.

Wayfinding Signs in the South Core
45 Wayfinding signs were installed in the City's south core for the summer months. This initiative was coordinated by the Health Unit, and supported by EarthCare, including Walkability Committee members.
Get out walking and use the signs to explore the many attractions that you may not yet know. Find out how quick, easy and enjoyable it is to walk around our City.
Resolution Passed in Support of Thunder Bay's North Harbour Clean-Up
One of the resolutions passed at the Great Lakes Saint Lawrence Cities Initiative Annual Meeting was in support of the clean up of Thunder bay's mercury-contaminated North Harbour.
CLIMATE CHANGE PHOTO OF THE MONTH
Cycle and cool the planet.
 Cycling is immensely beneficial in fighting climate change according to the European Cyclists’ Federation’s report, “Cycle more often to cool down the planet.” Having proper bike lanes creates an opportunity to reduce carbon emissions. Got a new bike #beingeco-friendly.
