Summer Tree Care Day
Tree Care Friday, August 3 join ELDI and Tree Pittsburgh for a Tree Care Day in East Liberty's Commercial Core! Help us take care of our trees on Penn Avenue, Highland Avenue, and Penn Circle South.
 
From 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m., we'll be weeding tree pits, mulching around trees and picking up litter. FREE LUNCH will be provided! Meet us rain or shine at the corner of Highland and Penn Avenues.

East Liberty Development, Inc. is hosting a planning process for the "Super Block," the area bound by Larimer Avenue, Broad Street, and East Liberty Boulevard. 
 
Join us for a meeting Wednesday, July 25 at 6:00 p.m. at the Pentecostal Temple (6300 East Liberty Boulevard). Dinner and childcare will be provided!

Rates cut in two East Liberty parking lots
Parking lot rates cut
 
Rates in the Sheridan/Harvard and Sheridan/Kirkwood parking lots in East Liberty have been cut to $.50/hr (from $1/hr). These lots will now cost $4/day or $80/month (for a 40-hour workweek).
 
Rates in other Parking Authority lots, as well as street meters, in East Liberty remain the same.

Public Art Walking Tour
Ped Bridge at Night
Join the Office of Public Art Friday, July 20 at 7:00 p.m. for a Public Art Walking Tour in East Liberty! 
 
The tour will focus on works of public art in our neighborhood, including Sheila Klein's East End Pedestrian Bridge, Jon Rubin and Dawn Weleski's Conflict Kitchen and Laura Jean MacLaughlin's Whole Foods Market mosaic, Dishing Out Science.

Artists Jon Rubin and Laura Jean MacLaughlin will serve as expert guides, providing information on their work and how each piece landed in Pittsburgh. Tickets are $5 for Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council members and $7 for non-members if purchased prior to the tour. Onsite registration is $15.

"The Looking Glass" at Union Project
ELCO
The Eclectic Laboratory Chamber Orchestra (ELCO) will present "The Looking Glass" at Union Project (801 N. Negley Ave) Sunday, July 29 at 7:00 p.m.!

The music of The Looking Glass takes its inspiration from the Pop Art, Op Art, and Minimal Art of the late 1960s in order to explore the musical connections between Classical Minimalism, Jazz, Funk, and Contemporary Dance Pop. 
 
All proceeds from The Looking Glass will go to benefit Union Project and will help make space to connect, create, and celebrate community!
