East End Visioning
Bloomfield, East Liberty, Garfield and Lawrenceville are coming together Saturday, May 19 to talk about how YOU would like to see your community develop!

We'll meet at Pittsburgh Arsenal 6-8 (220 40th Street) from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Please come and bring your neighbors, too. Everyone is invited!

Pittsburgh Green House community classes
Ain't-a That Good News flier
The Pittsburgh Green House is a 110-year-old home that has been renovated to teach the public about saving water and energy!
 
The house is open Wednesdays from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Fridays from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-4:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
 
The Green House also offers courses and classes! Check out the calendar on the website.
 
Citywide Public Safety meeting
Public Safety Councils and Zone Command Staff of Zones 2, 3 and 5 announce and invite you all to Summertime Safety for Pittsburgh Youth!
 
The Zone 2 and Zone 5 Citizens Public Safety Councils, with the support of the Zone 4 Command, are excited to announce a city-wide public safety meeting for Pittsburgh residents on summertime safety for youth. This meeting will cover various city programs and policies to keep our youth safe and out of trouble in the summer, as well as general updates from our Public Safety divisions and a special presentation from the Mayor's Office. It is also a great opportunity to meet other community leaders from across the city.
 
The meeting is Thursday, May 17 at the Teamster Temple (4701 Butler St). Refreshments and information tables will be set up at 6:00 p.m., and presentations begin at 6:30.
 
Special presentation topics include:
-Blockwatch in a Box: A new program from the Mayor's Office
-Police Camps and Programs for Youth
-Citiparks Youth Summer Programs
-New Policy on Clearances for Sports League Coaches
-Playground and Sports Field Injury Prevention

Bakery Square 2.0 Neighborhood Public Meeting
BkSq 2.0
Join Walnut Capital for an informative meeting about plans for Bakery Square 2.0 Wednesday, May 16 at 7:00 p.m.
 
This will be an open discussion on the development plans for Bakery Square 2.0, the former Reizenstein School property. At this informal meeting, you'll have the opportunity to learn about Walnut Capital's plans for the development. Coffee and dessert will be provided.
 
The meeting will take place on the first floor of Bakery Square (6425 Penn Ave., enter opposite Coffee Tree Roasters). Free parking is available in the Bakery Square garage, but please leave the courtyard and ground-level spaces open for shoppers. 
 
This meeting is preparation for a Planning Commission Public Hearing for a zoning district change, which will be held May 29.

eBusIt's almost time for the Fifth Third Bank eBus! The 40-foot eBus doubles as a mobile classroom providing credit counseling, financial education and homeownership and foreclosure prevention services directly to the community in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.
Once on board, visitors also will be able to:
-request a free credit report
-receive information on the prevention of foreclosures
-receive money management and budgeting information
-open a checking or savings account or apply for a credit card
-talk to representatives from community service organizations for additional help with financial education
-receive Fifth Third Bank giveaways and enter to win prizes

Free Diabetes Self-Management Workshop!
Primary Care Health Services, Inc. and Vintage Senior Services invite you to Take a Healthy View on Diabetes!
 
This is a free 6-week diabetes self-management workshop. Classes take place Thursdays from 12:00-2:30 p.m., May 24-June 28 at the Alma Illery Medical Center (7227 Hamilton Ave., Homewood).
