Gemini's Kathryn Sjoholm Honored with Niles Night of Roses Award
The last thing Gemini Science Teacher
Kathryn Sjoholm
expected during her
final class of the day on March 14 was a surprise visit from the small crowd that entered the classroom -- complete with a beautiful red rose!
The Award honors "an individual who fosters a positive environment to teach, educate, instruct, counsel, or inspire our youth," and Sjoholm exemplifies that description. Time and time again since joining D63 in 1997, she has stepped up to launch and lead activities -- from the Gemini Cheerleading Team to the Girls Softball Team and, most recently, the Gembots Robotics Team -- that create opportunities for students and offer multiple pathways to success.
Sjoholm will be honored at the Niles Night of Roses - Tribute to Home Grown Success Dinner on May 12. We're proud to have her on our D63 team!
