#63Success: News From Our Schools

Apollo held "Breakfast After the Bell," last week, offering a healthy breakfast to all students. During Read Across America week, the focus was on author Mo Williams -- not to mention Crazy Hair Day, Pajama Day, and more!

Gemini  parents and guardians are encouraged to schedule their parent/teacher conferences now. Students can enjoy lunch and a great book chat during Famished for Fiction!

Mark Twain  teachers donned the pie costume at the school's February 22 McTeacher's Night. In a mere three hours, the event had raised $496! Yesterday, Maine East students stopped by to talk about social media safety.

Melzer's Read Across America celebration featured more than two dozen readers, including teachers, the Principal, and even D63 Administrators fanning out across the school to read a wide variety of books.

Nelson Art Teacher Tina Daskalopoulos is one of 34 finalists (out of over 600 nominees) for one of ten Golden Apple Awards. We wish her the best of luck -- but here at D63 she'll always be a star!

Stevenson students and their families visited Des Plaines Bank & Trust for a special field trip on February 27. Each student took home a goody bag with a piggy bank to save their coins!.

Washington raised more than $3,840 for three new no-touch, filter, automatic activation water fountains! The fountains will be installed this spring; special thanks to our Wildcat families and the PTO for their generosity!
