Councilmember Sheehan is scheduled to review the bills for the April 18, 2017 City Council meeting.   

Earth Day Stream Clean-Up along Thompson Creek
In conjunction with Earth Day, the City of La Vista will be hosting a Thompson Creek stream clean-up event on Saturday, April 22, 9-11 a.m. 

Participants are asked to meet in the Champion Park parking lot along Park View Boulevard. The City will provide all tools needed.

Easter Egg Hunt & Food Drive Scheduled for this weekend!
The La Vista Easter Egg Hunt and Food Drive is scheduled for Saturday, April 15, at 10 a.m. at the La Vista Sports Complex, located 1/4 mile south of Harrison Street on 66th Street. 

This event will be held rain or shine. Arrive early to allow time to park and walk. 

Following are the field assignments and start times:
  • 4 & under without parent, Softball Field #2, 10 a.m.
  • 4 & under with parent, Softball Field #3, 10 a.m.
  • 5-7 years old, Softball Field #4, 10:10 a.m.
  • 8-10 years old, Softball Field #1, 10:20 a.m.
Children may only participate in one age group. 

Bring a canned food or cash donation for the Tri-City Food Pantry! 
Arbor Day Celebration Scheduled for April 27
Join us for a special Arbor Day on Thursday, April 27, at 10 a.m. at the Community Center as we celebrate this Nebraska-born holiday as well as the 50th anniversary of TD2, an Omaha engineering and surveying firm with deep roots in La Vista!

We'll have an outdoor storytime, Arbor Day tree planting as well as a special presentation from TD2's Bob Dreessen.

Afterwards join us for treats, courtesy of TD2, across from Central Park along Edgewood Boulevard to see the Legacy Trees.

There will be a special gift for all children who attend.
Spring Clean-Up Days Scheduled for April 28-29
La Vista's annual Clean-Up Days will be Friday, April 28 and Saturday April 29. All residents, including residents in La Vista's extra-territorial zoning jurisdiction, are encouraged to take advantage of this free disposal service by bringing discarded items to the Public Works Facility, 9900 Portal Road. Hours of operation will be 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Pitch, Hit & Run Scheduled for April 22
Major League Baseball's Pitch, Hit & Run competition is coming to La Vista on Saturday, April 22, at 11 a.m. at the La Vista Sports Complex. 

Pitch Hit and Run is a FREE, exciting skills event providing boys and girls ages 7-14 (as of July 17, 2017) to compete separately against their peers. Boys and girls in four separate age division compete against each other in pitching, hitting and running in a fun and engaging forum.

There are two separate divisions of PHR: baseball and softball. Participants may compete in either division.

We have teamed up with the City of Papillion to offer a longer course with even more adventure! Find a friend, form a team of two, then be prepared to run, bike and navigate your way through La Vista and Papillion while searching for check points and completing challenges and mystery events!

Team Divisions: Men, Women, Co-Ed

Course time: 3-4 hours

$50 per racer ($100 per team). Entry fee includes custom designed dri-fit shirt, food, and prize drawings.
