FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
STEP FORWARD ENTREPRENEURS PROGRAM (SFEP)
The primary objective of the Step Forward Entrepreneurs Program (SFEP) is to enhance innovation and commercialization for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).Up to $5,000 in assistance for a variety of costs.

Deadline: Last day of every month. C ontinual intake process, with monthly reviews.
TRIPLE P PROGRAM
Innovative for-profit businesses can receive up to $10,000 at 85% of eligible costs to purchase equipment or technology related to an innovative commercial product, process or service.

Deadline: Ongoing intake until funds are allocated.
EMPLOYING YOUNG TALENT INCENTIVE
Small businesses (less than 100 employees) can receive an initial $1,000 incentive upon hiring and an additional $1,000 retention incentive after six months for each youth (aged 15 to 29) hired through Employment Ontario's Youth Job Connection.

Premier’s Award for Agri-Food Innovation
The Premier’s Award for Agri-Food Innovation has been recognizing outstanding innovators for over a decade.

Innovations recognized in 2017 included:
  • extending the availability microgreens through the Ontario winter
  • finding creative ways of informing urban populations about where their food comes from
  • finding a new use for whey by-product

All of the innovations in this program come from ordinary Ontarian's who see a gap and fulfill a need.

Do you think you know someone who might have an innovation that deserves to be recognized? Have they developed and implemented a unique product or process within their farm or food business? If so, they could be eligible to receive one of the monetary awards from the Premier’s Award for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence.

This program encourages the development of rural communities, farms, agri-food processors and organizations by adding value to existing products, creating jobs and driving economic growth.

Applications for the 2018 program are now being accepted until 11:50 p.m. Friday, May 25 th . Eligible applicants include primary producers and farmers, food processors and agri-food organizations.
