Williston Economic Development has launched the Williston Works podcast series. Season one features six episodes that were produced and edited by The Creative Treatment. Each of the 10-minute podcasts reveal interesting stories from Williston entrepreneurs, developers and leaders. The first podcast will bring listeners up to date on the XWA construction project and how it will enhance commerce in the Williston trade area. STAR Fund provides up to $184,000 for Five Commercial Projects

The STAR Fund has allocated nearly $900,000 to qualifying projects in Williston in 2018.
Williston Economic Development - The Williston City Commission has approved up to $184,000 in STAR Fund grants for five commercial projects including construction of a new state-of-the-art dental office. Dr. Jeremy Messer will receive up to $67,000 from the Flex PACE Express program to buy down the interest on the $2.3M project. The new facility will be located near the 20/20 Professional Center in Williston. Read More
Johnson elected to STAR Fund Board
Dana Johnson has joined the seven-member STAR Fund Advisory Board. Williston Economic Development
Williston Economic Development - The Williston STAR Fund Advisory Board has elected a new member and chairman. Williston native Dana Johnson was selected as the new member at its Aug. 7 meeting. Johnson is the owner of Little Muddy Gifts in Downtown Williston. She replaces Leah Johnson Ellis, who completed her two three-year terms this summer. Read More
JM Marschuetz returns to XWA Project
KEYZ Radio -  Following the contractor's unceremonious expulsion from the project back on August 9th, for failing to meet construction deadlines, the City of Williston and it's surety bond partner Zurich North America decided earlier today that it would be in the best interest of all parties to reinstate the contract with JM Marschuetz however with the following caveats as recited by airport director Anthony Dudas. Williston Chamber names New President
Heather Voll is the new president of the Williston Area Chamber of Commerce.
News Release - The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce has announced Heather Voll as the organization's new President, effective September 10th. Voll has served as the Events & Convention Services Coordinator at the Williston Convention & Visitors Bureau since January 2018. "I am very much looking forward to the wonderful opportunity to work with the Williston Area Chamber of Commerce, their amazing staff and dedicated board," said Voll. Crosby Journal - One of Wildrose's oldest homes is being remodeled into a photography studio by Teri Peterson. Peterson, a native of Rolette, has been living in Wildrose since 2009. Paisley's Treasures is a full-fledged business in North Dakota. Paisley LeBaron has learned accounting, how to make a website, run an Etsy store, and maintain a social media presence.
MyNDNow.com - One Watford City middle schooler is wasting no time when it comes to chasing her dreams.  "What she's doing shows that you can do anything, it doesn't matter how old you are," Chelsea LeBaron said as she talked about her daughter, Paisley. Paisley LeBaron is an average 6th grade girl with big dreams. "I make crafts and activity kits for kids of all ages," Paisley explained.  Read More
Dickinson State Student, Bull Rider launches Hat Company
Roundup - What once started out as a dream is slowly turning into reality for Lane Berg, an aspiring bull rider, entrepreneur, and student at Dickinson State University. Berg grew up on a farm 40 miles west of Fargo, North Dakota where he and his family raised beef and longhorn cattle. Aside from riding bulls, Berg started his own hat company in December of 2017 which is called, West River Hat Company. XTO Energy donates $60,000 to McKenzie County Healthcare Systems

Roundup - XTO Energy donated $50,000 for an urgent care room and $10,000 for a defibrillator at McKenzie County Healthcare Systems, Watford City, on Aug. 29. "We are thrilled to receive the $50,000 for this urgent care room," stated Patsy Levang, McKenzie County Healthcare Systems Board Chair. The money is enough for the equipment in the room and provides supplies for several months. The urgent care room is of vital importance to the triage area in the emergency wing of the hospital. Registration opens for Bakken Oil Product and Service Show Oct. 3-4
Williston Herald - It's a place where deals get made and where many brand new oilfield products and services have found their jumping off point into the Bakken. The Bakken Oil Product and Service Show is counting down 32 days and some change to its eighth annual networking extravaganza, set for Oct. 3 and 4 at the Raymond Family Community Center. As in year's past, the event will be free for those who work in the oilfield industry, and a complimentary lunch is provided both days for all attendees. The community is invited to a complimentary BBQ chicken dinner to pay tribute to those involved in the agricultural industry. The luncheon will be served from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the former Hedderich's lot in Downtown Williston.

09/20 ------ Art & Wine Walk
The bi-annual Art & Wine Walk will be held from 5-8 p.m. in Downtown Williston. The event will begin at the James Memorial Arts Center. Tickets are available at Castle Framing and Cooks on Main. Must be 21 to participate.

09/29 ------ Clean Up Williston
Help clean up Williston from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Supplies and refreshments will be available at Davidson Park. There will also be roll-offs for used tires (four maximum), metals and other materials. Help keep Williston clean and pick up up trash in your neighborhood, business, boulevards and parks.
