Economic Forces in American History is a cross-curricular program designed to help history teachers incorporate an economic way of thinking into their American history courses. The lessons are designed to develop the tools of economic reasoning in the context of specific historical periods and broad historical themes, encouraging students to learn by 'reliving' history rather than just reading or hearing about it.

Program Details
Graduate Credit (optional) available (2 semester hours, $204) from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.  University credit option requires attendance at all sessions. 

 

A $50 refundable deposit and $50 program fee is required for registration. The $50 deposit will be returned at the completion of the program. Return of deposit requires attendance at all sessions. 

 

Lodging, most meals, and program materials provided by FTE. Lodging is covered in full by the FTE if participants share a room with another participant. If a private room is desired, then the FTE will pay for the cost of half the room for the 6 nights of the program (lodging is provided through check-out Sunday morning, if desired). Participants may opt to have a family member or friend accompany them to share the private room.

$150 stipend available to participants commuting to a program. 

Participants are responsible for transportation to and from the seminar.
