Message from the Principal
Dear Edgerton Families,

As we approach spring break in a few short weeks, I would like to congratulate all students on their progress so far. We look forward to finishing the year strong. For those who have a conference appointment, or those who request a spring conference, we look forward to meeting with you to discuss progress further.

We finished another successful Family Fun Dance and Silent Auction this past Friday. Big thanks to our PTO and families for organizing and volunteering to make this event the success it always turns out to be. We had a wonderful turnout, so many thanks to everyone for your support. It seemed like many students and parents had a blast dancing the night away.

After spring break, our 3rd through 5th grade students, as well as all Wisconsin students, will take the Forward Exam. This assessment has been in place the past two years and continues in 2018 and beyond. We will be administering assessments in English language arts and mathematics in grades 3 through 8, in science in grades 4 and 8, and in social studies in 4, 8, and 10. Information will be sent home to parents with further detail along with specific days that your child we will be testing. The testing window for Edgerton will begin after April 12th, so please notify the office and your child's teacher if you are planning a vacation during the mid to later part of April.

Hope to see many of you at PTO Movie Night this Friday!

Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Wednesday March 14 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm and Friday, March 16 from 12:00 - 4:00 pm. Conferences will be by appointment only. You should have received an email from your child's teacher with sign up instructions. If you did not receive the email or have any questions about scheduling a conference, please contact your child's teacher directly.
Note: Friday, March 16 is a half-day of school for elementary students. Dismissal will be at 11:20 am. There is no YMCA care after school on half days. In addition, there are no K4 classes on March 16. Please plan accordingly.
2018-19 Classroom Assignments
In the months of April and early May, we will begin to make next year's classroom placements. When developing classes, the staff considers a variety of criteria including academic and social abilities, needs and student learning styles. If you would like to share information about your child that would be beneficial to us as we develop classes for next year, please pick up a Student Information Sheet from the office or print off from the website. Forms will be available beginning Monday, March 5 and will be due back to school by Friday, April 13.
Placements are made in part on the basis of teacher recommendations, reading inventory, academic performance , as well as the criteria listed above. Parent requests for specific room placements may be considered if there is a valid reason for the request. Such requests should be submitted in writing no later than April 13. We do not encourage such requests, but recognize that special situations may exist and parents can provide input. Please understand that room placements are at the discretion of the Principal via staff input.
Spring Pictures
The photographers will be here on Friday, March 23 for spring and class pictures. More information will be sent home soon in your child's take home folder.
Book Swap
We have started collecting gently used children's books and magazines for our annual book swap to be held in June. If you have any books you'd like to donate, please drop them off at the school office. This is a great event for EES. With enough donations, all students are able to take home several books to get them started with their summer reading! Thanks in advance for your donations!
Spring Weather
Please make sure your children are dressed appropriately for our unpredictable spring weather in Wisconsin! The temperatures can still be quite chilly this time of year, so make sure your children bring a jacket!
All School Field Trip to the Zoo
We have started the planning for our all school field trip to the Milwaukee County Zoo. It is scheduled for Friday, June 1st. We will need many parent chaperones that day. All chaperones will be required to have an approved volunteer background check. You may complete this process online by clicking here.
Please feel free to contact the school office if you have any questions. We look forward to sharing this fun day with all of you!
Spirit Week
Last week, the Edgerton Student Council hosted spirit week. It was a fun way to break up the doldrums of a long Wisconsin winter. Here are some photos of the fun days!

Family Fun Dance
Edgerton's annual Family Fun Dance and Silent Auction was held at Whitnall Middle School on March 2. The turnout was great and a fun night was had by all. Thanks to all the families who attended, helped out or donated items for the Silent Auction. Your continued support of Edgerton is greatly appreciated!
