The Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders offers a wide variety of education & training programs for parents, educators, caregivers, and the community. You do not have to be a patient or have a child who is a patient to attend the following.
Success in Special Education (SPANISH)
 
Are you worried your child is not getting the proper education to meet their needs? Learn how to become an active and knowledgeable IEP team member so you can be a part of the decision-making process.

Get the Most of out Your ABA

Are you currently receiving ABA yet need help communicating or working with your team to communicate your home specific needs? Come learn terminology and review your child's and family's needs. Let our Behavior Intervention Director, Kelly McKinnon-Bermingham, BCBA, help you learn how to effectively communicate with your ABA team to best enhance your child's program. Next class starts September 20, 2016.
Advanced Problem Behavior Training

Are you having trouble at home with your little one? This 4-week class is designed to help guide you through the different areas that you are facing with your child. Let our BCBA teach you ways to gain control of your household and stop situations before they escalate! Next class starts September 21, 2016.
Just for Girls! Health, Hygiene, & Puberty
  
Most parents wonder when is an appropriate time to start talking about puberty with their child. Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) often need longer to adjust to and understand the changes that will start to happen to their bodies. This 6-week session focuses on what the child and parent should expect as girls become adolescents, breaking down the information in a clear, systematic way. Next class starts September 22, 2016.

Autism Education Series
 
This is a 5-week series designed for parents of children who are newly diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). We encourage parents, family members, care givers, and professionals to attend, as well as individuals who would like more education about ASD. Each week will very in topics discussed.  Next class starts October 4, 2016. 
Potty Training
  
Is your child transitioning out of diapers and struggling with potty training? This class will give you the tools you need to take home and teach your little one about proper potty etiquette. Next class starts October 4, 2016.  
Sleep-Time & Morning Routines
  
Now that school has started, maintaining a schedule is crucial! If you are struggling with your child getting to bed or waking up on time, than this is the class for you! A successful school year starts with a good schedule and good sleep! Times like this may be hard for children who are transitioning on the autism spectrum. Next class starts October 11, 2016.

We strive to provide you with support and enriching learning opportunities is our top priority. Help Me Grow and Child Behavior Pathways are two of our affiliated programs to help guide and provide you with resources.
Help Me Grow

Help Me Grow (HMG) connects children and their families to developmental services to enhance the development, behavior and learning of children birth through five years. By calling the toll free number 1.866.GROW.025, or using the online link, parents, caregivers, child care providers, early educators and health care providers have a point of access to developmental services for all young children who live in Orange County.
Child Behavior Pathways

Child Behavior Pathways is a joint program between CHOC Children's Hospital and UC Irvine. The program focuses on families with children ages 0-5 and provides services in English and Spanish. Their 9-week series utilizes an evidence-based curriculum helping parents learn how to increase positive parent-child interactions, how to respond to common attention getting behaviors, social skills, and self esteem.
