Bats
Grade Range: K-5
Celebrate Halloween by having your students learn the truth and myths about bats. Get up close and personal with some of Iowa's bats. Listen to amazing facts and see fascinating pictures of other bats found throughout the world. Additionally, learn how to deal with them when they become unwanted house guests. This is an interactive program so come prepared to ask questions.
Bones, Bones, Bones
Grade Range: 2-5
Learn about the human skeleton in this ICN Session, which will combine math, science, health, and physical activities. Students will learn the name of some major bones, how many bones they have in their bodies, and the purpose of a skeleton.
Alliant Energy Kids: Lunch and Learn
Professional Development
Educators, bring your lunch and join this short twenty-five minute informational session about Alliant Energy Kids. This fall, Alliant Energy will roll out this energy education curriculum for third and fourth grade students. Alliant Energy Kids offers units on energy safety and energy conservation. Each unit contains lesson plans that include learning objectives, a list of applicable national standards, fun activities, and projects with accompanying materials.
