IPTV is pleased to bring you our weekly eNewsletter that highlights some of our many educational resources, programs, and ICN sessions available. While interactives and video games are not the silver bullet that will transform schools overnight, in the hands of a skilled teacher, interactives can engage and challenge students in ways that a textbook cannot. This week we highlight interactives from PBS LearningMedia that will help you encourage your students to think in new and unexpected ways.

Prohibition

Grade Range: 6-8, 9-12

Acclaimed documentary filmmakers Ken Burns and Lynn Novick present the story of America's "Great Experiment." The three part series traces the American populace from a "nation of drunkards" to a "nation of scofflaws," where previously law-abiding citizens skirted the ban on alcohol, to a "nation of hypocrites." The series goes beyond the history of the prohibition movement and analyzes the paradoxical nature of the 1920s, the morality of a nation, and what it meant to be a law-abiding citizen.
