Absentee Ballot Requests Due June 7th
Voters must request their absentee ballots by the close of business on the Thursday prior to an election, except in special circumstances allowed by law. This includes requests to vote the ballot in the presence of the Municipal Clerk. After this deadline, a voter may request an absentee ballot only if the voter completes a Special Circumstances Application and indicates one of three allowable reasons to request an absentee ballot after this deadline, according to the Secretary of State's Office.
Maine citizens who are registered to vote may use an online service to request an absentee ballot by clicking here. The ballot will be sent to you via postal mail and must be returned to your municipal clerk by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. You may also contact the municipal clerk in the town or city where you are registered to vote.
