Election Day is Tuesday, November 4th.  I hope you will participate with me in our democracy we share as Americans and GO VOTE!

All Virginia voters need to present a photo ID when they vote on Tuesday.

 
Election Day:   Acceptable ID's include:  
            *    Valid Virginia Driver's License
            *    DMV-issued Photo Identification Card
            *    Valid United States Passport
            *    Valid Employee Photo Identification Card
            *    Military ID
            *    Other Government-Issued Photo Identification Card
            *    Valid Student Photo ID Card issued by Virginia high school or Virginia  college/university.
            *    Tribal enrollment or other tribal ID issued by a recognized tribe.  

Virginia Beach:  

 

In addition to voting to select your candidate for U.S. Senate and 2nd District in the U.S. House of Representatives, voters in Virginia will also be voting on:
           
* City Council Members for all districts -- At-Large, Bayside, Beach, Lynnhaven, Princess Anne, and Rose Hall.
           
* School Board Members for Bayside, Beach, Lynnhaven, and Princess Anne.
           
* A constitutional amendment to allow to exempt from taxation the real property of the surviving spouse of any member of the armed forces of United States killed in action. (See the proposed amendment below.)  

Veterans Surviving Spouse Property Tax Constitutional Amendment
 
Question: Shall Section 6-A of Article X (Taxation and Finance) of the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to exempt from taxation the real property of the surviving spouse of any member of the armed forces of the United States who was killed in action, where the surviving spouse occupies the real property as his or her principal place of residence and has not remarried?
 

I urge you to vote yes to this amendment!
