Some great news for transit this week!
Congress Approves
Bus Capital Funding Amendment
Thank you to all of you who called your congressperson this week! The advocacy efforts  worked - last night, the House passed (by voice vote) the Herrera-Beutler/Schrader/Larsen/Loebsack/Turner/Cartwright/DelBene amendment, which adds significant revenue to the Section 5339 Dedicated Bus and Bus Facilities program.

This victory is a direct result of transit supporters around the country.  Congress still has much to do as the conference committee works out differences between the House bill and the Senate bill over the coming weeks.  But having this amendment in the committee debate greatly increases our chances of getting in the final bill.
