Building a firm foundation
  through Christ-centered education

Dear Elementary Parents,

Our Elementary Grandparents & Special Friend Day will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. This event is a much loved tradition at Mariners Christian School. It is a time when elementary students (TK-5th grade) may invite grandparents or another adult who plays a special role in his or her life to visit our campus. The day begins in the auditorium with a special elementary program. Following the program, the guests will meet the students in their classrooms for campus tours.

Please Forward Invitation to Student's Guests

Enclosed is an electronic copy of the invitation for you to FORWARD (or print and hand deliver) to your elementary student's guests. If you would like a printed color copy of the invitation to hand-deliver, please stop by the reception desk and pick one up. Please remind your guests to RSVP by May 8th at the link provided on the invitation.

Elementary Student "Non-Uniform Special Dress" for May 12th:
Girls' Guidelines: Nice dress or skirt/pants and blouse. Skirts/dress must be no higher than 3 inches above the knee. No spaghetti straps allowed.

Boys' Guidelines: Nice pants with collared shirt or polo shirt. No jeans or t-shirts.

*All outfits must be modest and honoring to God.

Elementary Dismissed at 12:00 (school begins at 8:10 a.m. as usual):
Students may leave with their guest at 12:00 after checking out with their teacher.  If your child is not leaving with his/her guest, parents are asked to park, come into the building, and pick up their students from the classroom at 12:00.  ASP will be available from 12:00 until 6:00 p.m. Please contact Mrs. Angie Nakamoto at anakamoto@marinerscs.org or ext. 153 if your child will need ASP care on May 12th.

Middle School Dismissed at 12:30PM - Regular Uniform Dress Day:
May 12th is a half day of school for middle school as well, but they are not involved in Grandparents/Special Friend day. As much as possible, early check-outs of middle school students should be avoided. In the event that a middle school student will be checked out by your elementary student's guests, they will need to be checked out at the front office downstairs. If a middle school student will be checked out early, it would be helpful and appreciated to pre-arrange the early dismissal by contacting Robin Walker in the middle school office at rwalker@marinerscs.org .  When emailing, please include the student name as well as the name of the adult that will be checking the student out. All middle school students will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. and will walk through carpool in the field area as usual. Cars will be dismissed at 12:40 p.m.

Guest Parking
Parking for the event will be available in the front parking lot or on Fischer Avenue. Additional parking is available inside our gates on the blacktop.

We hope this answers all of your questions about our upcoming Elementary Grandparents and Special Friend Day, and we look forward to meeting the grandparents and special people who build into your child's life!

Sincerely,

Reggie Biancalani
