Dinner Lecture at the Rookery
Wood Turtle Conservation
Thursday, November 10

Join Bob Hay, former DNR herpetologist, to learn about the status and history of wood turtles in Wisconsin and the activities and successes of the Wood Turtle Conservation Program from its inception in 2007 to the present. This includes surveys to identify existing nesting sites in northern WI counties, a four-year wood turtle hatchling program, and work being done to restore and create nesting sites that significantly improve hatching rates.

The program begins at 5:30 PM, with optional dinner and conversation after the presentation. Register in advance by calling the Cable Natural History Museum (715-798-3890). $5 member/$10 non-member.

New Autumn Hours

From now until Christmas the Rookery will be open 5 nights a week, Wednesday thru Sunday (closed Mon/Tue).

As for the holiday season, we'll make a decision based on advance reservations whether  to be open for dinner on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, Nov 24), Christmas Eve (Saturday, Dec 24), and Christmas Day (Sunday, Dec 25).

If you're interested in joining us any of these evenings please call to reserve at least a week in advance. Special holiday menu options to be announced.
