A Message from the Superintendent

Dear Lovejoy Community:

This is the third day of school and I hope some of the first week challenges, such as car pool lines, are beginning to smooth out. Please remind yourself the challenges of the first week tend to dissipate as everyone settles into their routine for a new school year. I woke up at 3:45 AM on the first day of school, which tends to happen annually as I experience the excitement of a new school year. One of the great things about being a teacher is the opportunity to start fresh each school year and to do better work than we did the year before. Please let us hear from you as you note areas of improvement for our schools. In addition to the campus personnel, you are welcome to text or call my cell 972-415-8129. If you text, please include your name so I will know with whom I am communicating.

Lovejoy Traditions

Senior Walk
The Senior Walk is an annual tradition for seniors at Lovejoy High School. The courtyard is lined with family members, students, and staff to welcome our seniors to their first day of their senior year. After entering the high school, the seniors are treated to a Senior Breakfast.  At the end of their senior year, senior students will take a final walk through the building and then exit through the courtyard surrounded by family members, students and staff.

New Family Dinner
Each year, the Foundation for Lovejoy Schools hosts a new family dinner. This event is an opportunity for parents new to Lovejoy to get to know some long-time district volunteers, as well as other new Lovejoy families. School board members, the district administration team, campus administrators, and board members for the Foundation for Lovejoy Schools were on hand to welcome the newest members of the Lovejoy family this past Saturday evening.  It was a great night and we look forward to sharing other Lovejoy traditions with our new families. Special thanks to the Foundation for hosting this event.
