A Message from the Superintendent

Dear  Lovejoy Community:

The Collin County Sheriff's Office received a false message today regarding a bomb threat at Willow Springs Middle School. The Collin County Sheriff's Office dispatched two units to the campus and in an abundance of caution, the Lucas Fire Department was called and the campus was evacuated and searched. The campus was safe and the students were returned to their classes.

During the search, one of our WSMS students admitted to sending the false report. Filing a false report is a violation of the Lovejoy ISD Student Code of Conduct, as well as the penal code. This is a serious infraction which has the potential to impact student safety. The district will always take direct action to hold any student or students accountable should they choose to disrupt the educational environment with this type of activity.

As always, please feel free to contact me on my cell phone if you have any questions, or if I may be of any assistance.

Respectfully,
Ted Moore
