A Message from the Superintendent

Dear  Lovejoy Community:

Happy New Year.  I hope you and your family had an enjoyable break.  It's great to have your students back in the classroom as we begin the centennial year of the Lovejoy Independent School District. Over the next 12 months, you will notice centennial-themed events, and I am proud to announce this year's graduating class will be our Centennial Class. Also, at our annual Denim and Diamonds gala, you will notice a centennial level of celebration and fundraising. More to come regarding reaching our 100th birthday...Old age never felt so good!

Speaking of celebration with our accumulated experiences, during the break, the Lovejoy Cross Country and Track team hosted the Holiday Invitational Pole Vault Tournament.  During this event, 77-year-old Don Isett broke an indoor pole vault world record clearing 10'1", and then cleared 10'6" to break the record again.  Following is the video:

Please be sure to read the "Where Are They Now?" section of Email Express.  Four Lovejoy alumni played in Bowl games over the break.  We are #lovejoyproud.
