A Message from the Superintendent
Dear Lovejoy Community:
As we near the end of the school year, we find our schedules full of activities and events in honor of our students and their outstanding accomplishments. Last night was the Academic Banquet honoring the Lovejoy High School students participating in academic events. We offer a full range of academic competitions from speech/debate, robotics, and computer science to name a few. These competitions are often as intense as you will find in any athletic competition. It's great to recognize all of our students' successes. As we are quickly approaching graduation for the Lovejoy Centennial class, it is also great to hear the future plans of our graduating seniors. We are #lovejoyproud.

Invitation to our 11th Annual Learning @ Lovejoy
Dear Lovejoy Community:
We are excited about the remaining days of this school year, yet also busy preparing for the school year to come. One of the district programs for which Lovejoy ISD has become quite well known in K-12 education circles is the professional learning opportunities provided to our staff through Learning @ Lovejoy. Learning @ Lovejoy consists of nine days of professional learning offered each year during the last week of July and the first week of August.
Although the vast majority of our conference sessions are designed for educators in various roles, we also offer sessions applicable to broader audiences. One such session I would invite you to explore is on July 26th. We are excited to have Stephen M.R. Covey, T
he New York Times and number one Wall Street Journal best-selling author of The Speed of Trust. The Speed of Trust has many implications for any collaborative work environment or any team looking for concrete approaches to improve performance.
If you or your organization are interested in learning about the strategies which Covey has shared with many public and private sector organizations nationally and internationally, I would encourage you to visit our conference website at www.learningatlovejoy.com, or simply visit the Lovejoy ISD homepage and select Learning @ Lovejoy under the District Spotlight banner.
Lovejoy parents and associated organizations may be eligible to receive a discounted rate. For further information, please contact me, or you may email our Director of Employee Selection and Development, Stephani Kranz.
We hope you continue to love where you learn. If you have feedback to help us improve, please do not hesitate to contact me on my cell at 214.385.1967.

Ashton Franquiz, a Junior at Lovejoy High School, will be competing in the Miss Texas Outstanding Teen pageant. She is the reigning Miss Hunt County's Outstanding Teen 2017. Ashton is a philanthropist at heart and feels blessed to be raised in North Dallas and in the Lovejoy District. She is part of the Majestics leadership team, choir, theatre program, and NHS. She dances outside of school and finds time to give back through the National Charity League. Ashton feels "To much is given, much is required." Ashton believes we all can make a difference, even if it is 1 hour serving somewhere. Some are called to serve and some are called to give, but by doing something, we can all make a difference.
Over the next several weeks, Ashton is raising money for the Children's Miracle Network. Would you help her in this campaign? "Your spare change can make a change." Containers to collect change are located at each campus.
