From the Director...
“I’m in technology heaven,” remarked a businessman who set up at one of our library tables the other day. He was thrilled that not only do we have power and USB ports at each of the tables, but these old tables were retrofitted to pull the power up through a hole in the center, allowing for table top access. While some may reminisce having to climb under each table in search of the outlet for their phone or laptop, most will find this new arrangement accommodating and a clear improvement for ease of use. This last month has involved a lot of climbing around, over and under our patient library members and visitors to upgrade our lighting and electrical access and add power and data access in our new spaces. We hope you enjoy the improvements, the better access and visibility, and more comfortable places to do your reading or research. The new study space will open by the end of March, providing a location for those who want more peace and quiet while they work. By mid-April, the brand new Smart Space will open, featuring a dedicated area for teens to gather, game, or study. During the school day, this space provides an alternate location for skill development in computer programs, resume writing, or data research for adults. These winter months have been productive. Now, we are more than ready for Spring!
