JUNE 2017

It must be summer - the days are long, our gardens are sprouting and the salmon are running. The menus at Lark, Southpaw Pizza and Slab Sandwiches + Pie are being updated at rapid-fire pace to make room for the latest, greatest summer ingredients. We're especially excited about the produce coming from our rooftop garden over on 12th Avenue, now in its second year. We're proud to be putting the early summer crop to use on all of our menus!

At Southpaw the Rooftop Garden Salad is one of the features of our new summer menu, simply dressed with sherry vinegar, extra virgin olive oil and herbs. Charred corn with cherry tomatoes and padrón peppers from the wood fire oven will be another summer favorite. Boozy slushies and wine, beer and cocktails on tap round out a warm weather meal nicely.

I'm looking forward to leading a pizza making class at Southpaw this weekend. The class sold out quickly, but keep an eye on Southpaw's Instagram , Facebook  and Twitter feed for another class coming soon.

Chef John Sundstrom will craft a menu to pair with the distinctive wines of Syncline, a family winery in eastern Washington that has earned accolades for their Rhone-style blends. We are fortunate to have Jenny K. O'Neil at the helm of Lark's wine program. Jenny has years of experience in the wine industry to share, and we were thrilled when she agreed to lead a discussion over dinner about the finer points of rosé. Join us for a five-course dinner and pairings to celebrate our favorite warm weather drink!
