Emergency Preparedness Drill is Coming Soon from NYS DOH OHEP

Interoperable Communications (IOC) Drill #1

The NYS Office of Emergency Preparedness will conduct a drill in your region

The NYS Dept. of Health, OHEP is planning a "low-notice" Interoperable Communications (IOC)drill #1 in the coming weeks for Nursing Homes, Adult Care Facilities, Homecare and CHCs. The drill is to test your ability to react to an emergency. The drill will be activated on the HCS HERDS (Health Emergency Response Data System).

Please note that these NYSDOH CST/IOC drills are only for providers outside of the 5 boroughs of New York City. (NYC has their own CST requirements)

Helpful Hint: If your HCS roles for Operator, Administrator, 24 / 7 Emergency Contact, Emergency Response Coordinator, eFINDS Reporting Administrator, Financial Data Submitter, HCN Coordinator are not up to date or assigned - you should rectify that NOW! Check and double check that your roles are assigned and email addresses are correct within the roles.

Webinars are being offered to explain the drill and your required response

Pre-drill webinars will be offered to ensure that you know what to do and how to respond when the drill is activated on HERDS. Participation is OPTIONAL but highly encouraged for your advance preparation to successfully respond to the drill.
