The Bible says,
"In the last days, God says, I will pour
out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons
and daughters will prophesy, your young
men will see visions, your old men will
dream dreams.” (Acts 2:17).
This old
man just dreamed a dream that had all
kinds of significance.
I am
certain it was direction from the Lord
to show me of what despair the young of
our generation have come to.
A couple of nights
ago I had a dream that was unusually
vivid!
I was in a
prison, standing in amazement and horror
as I watched a young inmate drive a nail
into his head.
I couldn’t
believe it as the other young men
standing around him began to applaud and
cheer.
It seems
like there’s always encouragement to do
evil.
I tried to
intervene, but it only made him more
determined.
I awoke
from the dream incredibly disturbed;
however, I had an immediate sense that
the Lord was speaking to me through this
dream.
Our young
people are in real trouble.
We get feedback
through our school ministry, Champions
for Today, that teenagers threaten to
commit suicide; there is bullying,
choking, cutting, and other self
inflicted damage.
What a
tragedy that our kids have come to such
despair.
It is a
symptom of bad parenting, but also a
symptom of the condition of our whole
society.
We have a
moral and spiritual responsibility to
invest in the lives of our young people,
and my encouragement is that you would
pray for our young people and get
involved in their lives. Young people
today are destroying their minds, and
their conscience has become so numb that
they don’t realize how damaging their
actions are to themselves.
In Ecclesiastes,
Solomon sought for joy, pleasure, and
every imaginable thing.
In the end,
Solomon says, “Now all has been heard;
here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments, for
this is the duty of all mankind”
(Ecclesiastes 12:13).
In Matthew 6:33: “But seek first his
kingdom and his righteousness, and all
these things will be given to you as
well”.
Young people these days in
schools and prisons are trying to prove
that they can seek other things and
throw God the scraps, and they are
ruining their lives, but at Champions
for Life we have a better solution.
More like Solomon’s conclusion,
“Fear God, and keep His commandments:
for this is the whole duty of man”.
In Him as
always,
With Love,
