Recap: Fellowship Of Catholic University Students (FOCUS)
after Year 1 at St. Isidore's Catholic Student Center

How did FOCUS impact in its first at St. Isidore's?

  • 284 students attended Bible Study at least once during the 2017-2018 academic year
  • 214 students were regular attenders of their Bible Studies
    • (According to FOCUS, 75% retention of first time attendees is incredible compared to other campuses across the country)
  • 15 students in discipleship
  • 7 students leading Bibles Studies
  • 3 students discipling other students
  • 79 students attended the SLS Conference in January
What is discipleship?
As St. Paul says, "With such affection for you we were determined to share with you not only the gospel of God, but our very selves as well, so dearly beloved had you become to us" (1 Thess 2:8).  Bible study leaders typically mentor two or three of the students in their Bible Studies, just as Christ invested in His apostles.

Having 15 students in discipleship is like having 15 more FOCUS missionaries on campus seeking to bring more students to Jesus.

As an evangelistic organization, missionaries welcome students of all religious backgrounds (or no religious backgrounds at all) to encounter the living Christ.  Listen to Fr. Gale's homilies as he shares about many who have came to him just this year.

Watch, here, live on facebook at 4:10EST, as our Jordan, Kelly, Chad and Catherine welcome our newest FOCUS Missionary as campuses are revealed to  new FOCUS Missionaries

In June we will recap all the activities that took place during the 2017-2018 academic year at St. Isidore's Catholic Student Center.
Finals Week

After the final Dollar Dinner of pancakes, sausage, and egg casserole hosted by the Student Leadership Team and Annual Giving Committee, students used St. Isidore's as a place to study throughout Finals Week. Members of the permanent community provided endless snacks in Newman Hall and students studied throughout the day and night.  Rumor has it that tacos were served on Tuesday evening and hammocks were seen in the trees of the St. Isidore's garden.

Alumni Mark: Class of 2018 Gift

This year, the graduating students decided they were not finished serving St. Isidore's Catholic Student Center.  Some have spent several years as part of the St. Isidore's family and we know they will always be a member of this family no matter where they

end up after graduation.

Because jobs and families might take them a few miles away or several hundred miles away, they want to continue to serve St. Isidore's and leave a lasting mark on their time here as a student.

This year, many  individuals from the Class of 2018, will be leaving a financial mark of $2,018 over the next five years.  They will be doing this in monthly installments of $33.64 over the next 60 months.

Jack Peterson, president of the Kansas State Newman Foundation, and  Fr. Gale, Pastor of St. Isidore's Catholic Student Center, received a check in the amount of $40,311.00 from the class of 2018.

The money pledged will be deposited with the Kansas State Newman Foundation which will invest the money for the future of St. Isidore's.  The graduating students know that big things lie a head in the future of St. Isidore's and they want to be an in

tegral part of it.  At a later point these alums, upon completion of their pledge will be honored on the  an Alumni Mark: Class Gift wall.  The exact plans are will being explored.
