Blue Heron Ranch horses, Sierra and Soleil, napping in the sun on Christmas Day, 2014.
Dear Nia Community,

Happy Holidays!
I am enjoying some wonderful down time, reflecting on and taking stock of the rich and full year of gifts we shared together here at Blue Heron Ranch and Bellevue Family YMCA and also casting dreams, personally and professionally, into the coming year.  Please note that Blue Heron Ranch Nia classes resume on Tuesday January 6th at 9:30 while all New Years week I will be teaching my Bellevue Family YMCA classes, Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 12:15 PM. I hope to see you there to celebrate our community dancing into the new year!

For 2015, a re-balancing of passions - nourishing creative, spiritual and philosophical energies with the physical
Blue Heron Ranch Studio is back to being a dual creative space, for Nia and for making art.

My dream for 2015 is to bring light and balance into the creative, spiritual and philosophical areas of my life along with my strong physical base from 11 years of studying and teaching the practice of Nia. Since having completed my Nia Faculty Trainer program and training the Nia White Belt Intensive over the past three years while also developing Nia & Horses Educational programs over the past six years, I am ready to balance my work life with my passion for being a visual artist, my original profession. In November I moved my art studio back into my dance studio but now in a whole new way so we still have as much room to dance!

In the spiritual and philosophical areas, in January I will step into an 18-month Adult B'Nai Mitzvah program at the reform and progressive Kol HaNeshamah Synagogue in West Seattle. I'll be studying with a group of seven other adults with Rabbi Zari Weiss. Since I was unable to complete Bat Mitzvah as a young woman, now is the perfect time. Immersing in the extensive Nia Faculty Trainer and the Nia & Horses Educational programs, under the direction of Nia's co-reator and founder, my mentor and teacher, Debbie Rosas, becoming a full time co-parent to my niece and studying Liberty Training and energetic communication with horses with teachers and mentors, Robin Gates and Carolyn Resnick has fed this path. With greater confidence in my ability to sustain a receptive state of learning and to apply self-discipline in making positive changes for optimal health as I near age 63, I am excited to dive in, applying ancient ways to nourish and activate my purpose in life - 'To create healing bridges'.

Nia & Horses - a three-day somatic journey of self-discovery and connection with horses

2014 was The Year of the Horse, an optimistic, kind and powerful year and the year that Nia & Horses, a Nia Headquarters accredited program, launched after six years of preparation, research and integration. I will be continuing training Nia & Horses as a Nia Faculty Trainer in a new three-day format in 2015. This delightful experience is for everybody, no Nia or horse experience necessary! I have three trainings planned - two at Blue Heron Ranch with our horses and one produced by Austrian Nia Black Belt Teacher, Kristin Gasser who is bringing me and Nia & Horses to Dagmar Baumann's equestrian farm, Le Costarelle, Tuscany, Italy September 11-13th, 2015. To learn more go here.

Wrapping up the year with gratitude for a thriving community of students and teachers!

Eleven years ago December 2003 I said to myself,
"My New Year's resolution is to become a Nia professional teacher."

and I have never looked back!
I took my Nia White Belt Training in January 2004 with Debbie Rosas and Carlos Rosas, catapulting me into an enriching, somatic body-life journey over the next eleven years through taking all of the Nia belts - Green, Blue, Brown, Black, Nia 5 Stages Training and then Orange Nia Faculty Apprentice Trainer and finally, Red Belt Nia Faculty Trainer. Starting in 2008 I began incorporating Nia with my equestrian education school, thus I began developing Nia & Horses, which is today an accredited Nia Headquarters program. In 2014 I launched Nia & Horses. Through it all, I have enjoyed a stronger, more fluid, and healthier body, am living a happier, more loving, empowered, aware and expressive life, and get to work within a warm and welcoming global community of Nia teachers, students and glorious horses!

I love my Sacred Livelihood as a Nia Faculty Trainer, facilitating the Nia White Belt Training for those wanting to deepen their practice and/or embody, learn and share by teaching Nia and creating their own thriving dancing communities. And I feel blessed to be teaching Nia & Horses, a unique and dynamic educational three-day retreat which is open to everybody interested in restoring to their natural state of wholeness through sensory, somatic connection, movement, the art of listening, creativity, energetic awareness and non-verbal communication.

I invite you to step into
your own Sacred Livelihood with me
in 2015...
...by immersing your body and soul into a sensational week long Nia White Belt Training
retreat or a three day Nia & Horses Educational retreat, surrounded by nature, art, gentle and friendly animals and warm, welcoming people
at Blue Heron Ranch Studio in Sammamish.

Special thanks to Susan Duplan, Nia White Belt Teacher and artist
 for these beautiful words!
"I received my White Belt at Blue Heron Ranch in July of 2013 from Randee Fox. Naturally my life has been transformed by Nia. I am now teaching on little Pender Island off the coast of BC, have had my first major Nia event last June with Shelley Lawson of another close by island and I am now looking to have classes in the big city of Victoria starting in January 2015. I have reached out and connected to numerous Nia instructors on the islands including Vancouver Island. What I love about Randee is her continuing support all this past year as I grow. I would otherwise feel quite isolated. Time and again she has come through for me with emails and phone calls of solid advice and support for each question I have had on my journey with my students. I believe her demonstration of support will be what allows Nia to continue to grow.....and we all want Nia to grow. During the training I took note of her emphasis on community and I have taken this very important advice quite seriously. "
