Mark Your Calendars! MNADV's Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner to be held October 26, 2016
 
MNADV will hold its 36th Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 6:00-9:00 pm at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Annapolis.
 
Tickets go on sale starting August 1, 2016. Currently accepting sponsorships for multiple sponsor levels. Nominations are being accepted for Community Partners and Leadership awards.

Legislative Planning Process

MNADV is seeking input from you to help determine legislative priorities for 2017 . The purpose of our legislative advocacy is to improve victim/survivor safety and security and ensure abuser accountability. The purpose of this survey is to identify issues or problems that may be appropriate for legislative advocacy. 
 
The areas of focus are: 
  • Domestic violence-related crimes (assault, stalking, etc.)
  • Protective and peace orders
  • Family law (divorce, child custody, etc.)
  • Related issues (earned sick leave, employment, housing, discrimination, etc.)

IPV, Trauma, and Substance Use Trainings Available

MNADV is scheduling trainings with organizations and groups on the Intersections of Intimate Partner Violence, Trauma, and Substance Use. This training is for professionals who work with people who have substance use issues, who are survivors of domestic violence, and/or who are abusive to their partners. Trainings are being scheduled now through the end of September.
