The International Spouse Group is specifically designed to bring together the spouses of international students, faculty, staff and scholars for activities and interaction.
This group is open to the wives or husbands of international students, faculty, staff, as well as American spouses who are interested in making international friendships. We provide support in adjustment and acculturation while living and learning in the U.S.

Why Nott? Confronting a Campus Building's Legacy of White Supremacy

A panel of experts will discuss the significance of the name of Nott Hall, home of the Honors College, Rural Health Program, and Microbiology labs. Josiah C. Nott (1804-1873), namesake of the building, was an accomplished medical doctor from Mobile who published academic works lending scientific support to the philosophy of white supremacy. The panel will explore Nott's history and legacy, the significance of public symbols, and whether it is appropriate for Nott's name to reside on a campus building.

Comer Hall from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come explore the options you have to study abroad during your time at UA. Education Abroad staff, UA faculty and representatives from UA affiliate providers will be on hand to meet with students and find a program that works for you.

Apply for a Passport!
Would you like a new or renewed U.S. passport, for free? Join Education Abroad and CIEE for the Passport Caravan. Passport Caravan can serve as a catalyst to start planning your international endeavors! We hope to expand and diversify the population of students who have the opportunity to study abroad. Preference will be given to students who do not currently have a valid U.S. passport. Please note: All U.S. State Department eligibility requirements and procedures apply.

#blackgirls4change: Hobson City 9 Exhibit
Free and open to the public
A total of 29 images taken by young African American girls from Hobson City will be on display at The University of Alabama’s Paul R. Jones Gallery of Art in downtown Tuscaloosa from Wednesday, August 24, through Friday, September 30.
The Hobson City 9 is adapted from the famed Little Rock Nine students who enrolled in Little Rock Central High School in 1957, when public school segregation ended. The Little Rock Nine were denied entry by segregationists, but they later entered with the National Guard’s assistance. Inspired by their perseverance, The Hobson City 9 created this exhibit to represent how a handful of people can change society, and that change begins with engagement on a local or community level.

We are incredibly honored and excited to announce the Mildred Westervelt Warner Transportation Museum will host Remembering 4 Little Girls: A Gallery of Creative Expression from the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute.
The exhibition is composed of winning entries in a nationwide high school creative expression contest based on Spike Lee’s Oscar (R) nominated documentary about the 1963 Birmingham, Alabama, church bombing that took the lives of four young girls.
