Celebrating Bulldogs In The
Dog Days of Summer!
Meet Raven & Her Family

Over three years ago, my husband, Johnny, and I embarked on what would be an incredible and wild journey with the Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue. Fast forward to July of 2017, after losing our first rescue Bulldog to a terminal auto-immune disease, we were given the opportunity to meet the shyest and sweetest little girl, Raven, whom we affectionally call Rae Rae! Our meeting with Raven was much different than with our previous rescue Bulldog. Even though both were puppy mill mommas, Raven was scared to death of everything, including herself. After much thought and discussion, we made the decision to add her to our family.

We knew that adopting Raven would mean that our family would have to make some changes to adapt to her special needs, but we were all in. You see, we already had another Bulldog, Tilly, who has spinal bifida and requires daily medicine, treatments and a ton of extra care. What we didn't realize was that only thing that was going to help Raven was time and love. The first three months of having Raven in our home, she hid behind furniture or cowered in the corner, ran from us every time she saw us or Tilly. She had to be hand fed twice a day and carried outside to take care of business. Slowly, she started making improvements. She would walk outside, she would eat all by herself, she was taking baby steps to freedom that she always deserved. Almost one year to the day after her joining our home, Raven took a huge leap and started running to us with pure excitement, she started coming when we called her, she started being the Bulldog that we knew she would be and there is no turning back. Now 14 months later, she is a vibrant, super silly, fun loving girl! I am so happy that we gave that shy, sweet girl a chance to blossom into the beautiful Bulldog we know her as today. We can't wait see what her future holds!

Thank you so much to Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue for the perfect match.

Love, Sara, Johnny, Tilly and Rae Rae
Attention All Adopters!

Have you adopted from Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue? You adopted because you love the breed, you trust us and believe in what we do. You have seen our rescue up close and personal. You have interacted with various volunteers on different levels. You have even gotten a little look behind the scenes at how things work. Maybe you have even attended some of our area events. Why not join our team on another level?

Who better than you to be a foster? Think about it. You know about the dogs, you know many of the volunteers you will be working with directly, and you already know the process. You even know how to do a home visit and adoption contract. Most of your training is already done!

For everything else, we will hold your hand and walk you through. We have so many people willing to answer your every question and help with every need that arises.

Why do we need you to foster? We currently have 70 dogs in rescue, more than ever before. Many are having to stay much too long in boarding at the clinic because we have no available foster home in which to place them. Some are absolutely amazing dogs who could be adopted out quickly. But we need them in a home to see how they behave with a family and we need someone to take photos and write brief updates for social media so we can promote them better.

If you are in any way interested in fostering, or volunteering in any other much needed capacity, check out the Volunteer Page on our website. There you will also find a link to our Foster Application and our Volunteer Application . But if you have adopted recently, the foster approval will be based off the Adoption Application you have already completed.

Please consider completing an application today. Or email us to state your desire as a former adopter or to ask any questions. info@dfwbulldogrescue.org

LIVE. LOVE. RESCUE.
Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue is a non-profit, completely volunteer-driven organization dedicated to saving and re-homing Bulldogs with loving families.

Hundreds of Bulldogs are lost, abandoned, taken to animal shelters, or surrendered to rescue every year. Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue accepts Bulldogs whose owners can no longer keep them, and retrieves Bulldogs from shelters and undesirable situations. Our Bulldogs are placed in suitable homes as soon as reasonably possible.
