'Wear a scarf' to stop asthma attacks

Asthma sufferers are being encouraged to wear a scarf over their nose and mouth to prevent asthma attacks this winter.
Breathing in cold, damp air can make the airways tighten and trigger an attack in three out of four people, charity Asthma UK says. This can leave people coughing, wheezing and gasping for breath.  
The charity's #Scarfie campaign says "a scarf can save a life" but it's not a replacement for asthma medicines.
Four million people with asthma in the UK say that breathing in cold winter air makes their asthma symptoms worse.

Clinic changes in 2018

After nearly 20 years at our location in Station Street, our landlords have informed us that they want to move into our current premises next April, so 2018 will be ringing in the changes for the clinic.

We're already working hard to create a smooth transition next Spring and we hope that a move
to new premises will cause minimal disrupti o n to our therapies and classes. We'll keep you posted regarding future developments...

Reiki Master Susan Hall will be holding a Reiki Level 2 Course over 2 Sundays next Spring.

This course is for students who have completed Level I, and who are committed to carrying their Reiki forward in order to help others to help themselves.

When a student is attuned to Reiki level II energy he/she is able to work as a Reiki practitioner (when insured), either privately or as part of a complementary health centre.

In an ever-changing world, more and more healers are needed on many levels, and when one is attuned to level 2 energy the overwhelming feelings are of gratitude and wonder at having this powerful yet gentle magic in one's life.

The changes experienced after being attuned to Reiki energy at level I are enhanced greatly with the second attunement.
A life-enhancing and transformational step to take, should you choose to do so.

On successful completion of the 2 day course, you will receive a Reiki Level 2 Certificate.

Tai Chi Ch'uan is an ancient form of slow, graceful and rhythmic exercise which originated in China.

Tai Chi is sometimes referred to as 'meditation in movement' or 'swimming in air'. It's unlike any of the 'hard' martial arts which rely on force and speed.
Tai Chi strengthens our internal energy, and allows it to flow more freely through the body. It is gentle and non-violent, though after much practice is an extremely effective form of self defence. 


Many of our courses sell out weeks before they start, so in order to avoid disappointment we'd strongly advise reserving your place as early as possible.
