Hi everyone!

Winter is in full effect here in Boulder! We have been experiencing low 40s and 50s with rain and no sunshine. I am a few days away for setting off for the last big push of 2017!

In July after the NYC triathlon I decided it was time to make a change in my program. My results had been good but I wanted to try some new things and I knew it was time to make a coaching change. With the help of Trek, I linked up with Chris Lieto, who is a mutiple-IRONMAN champion and 2nd place finisher at the 2009 IRONMAN World Championship.  I was able to meet with him for camp in Scottsdale, Arizona in August and it was a huge success! Since then I have raced and won the Des Moines Escape Triathlon and the Lake Geneva Escape Triathlon and came second at the IMG Beijing International Triathlon. I am really enjoying having the Olympic distance races back on the circuit!

The next two months are very busy for me as I will be living out of my suitcase. I head to Kona on Oct 6th for training camp with Chris and also for opportunities to meet up with some of my terrific sponsors including TYR and HOKA (see below). Then I head straight to South Beach for IRONMAN 70.3 Miami. I will stay in Miami and train for Island House Triathlon as well as IRONMAN 70.3 Cartagena. It'll be a busy few weeks ahead but I am really excited to keep chasing the sunshine.

Come see me in Kona!

"In the women's race, Lauren Goss was 5 seconds off of Sarah Haskins on the swim but lead the field onto the bike after a quick transition and built an unsurmountable gap to win in dominating style.

Pulling away on the bike, Goss rolled the fastest bike split, 1:11 faster than Haskins and continued to open the gap with the fastest run. With a 2:04:30 finish time, Goss led the field, 3:17 in advance of Haskins and 6:58 ahead of third place Marchant."

"This was one of my favorite Olympic distance races," said 2017 Lake Geneva Escape Triathlon Champion Lauren Goss. "The run reminded me of the beginning of the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon run, it was really tough. I've loved the Escape Series. The locations are awesome and it's good to have competitive Olympic distances races on the schedule. I'm already looking forward to next year!"

"This was my third time racing in Des Moines, it's a very special place to me, the fans are awesome," said 2017 Des Moines Escape Triathlon Champion Lauren Goss. "Today was a big training block for me after not racing in six weeks. I went in feeling confident but also being conservative on the swim and bike, knowing the run was my strong suit. I am thrilled to take home my first Des Moines win today."

A Day in My Plant-Based Diet

I have had a lot of interest in my switch to plant-based eating while training at a high level. I decided to switch to a plant-based diet in January. The past eight months have been so much fun though, trying new foods and figuring out how to get the nutrients I need from plants to perform at the highest level. Being plant-based takes some prep and time. But once you get a routine down it is pretty easy. Figuring out what works for you and your schedule is the tricky part but it's made easier for me by using products from Naturally More, Garden of Life, First Endurance, Juice Performer, and MgSport

So what does my day look like in terms of food and supplements? Find out here on my blog!
