Winter is in full effect here in Boulder! We have been experiencing low 40s and 50s with rain and no sunshine. I am a few days away for setting off for the last big push of 2017!
In July after the NYC triathlon I decided it was time to make a change in my program. My results had been good but I wanted to try some new things and I knew it was time to make a coaching change. With the help of Trek, I linked up with Chris Lieto, who is a mutiple-IRONMAN champion and 2nd place finisher at the 2009 IRONMAN World Championship.
I was able to meet with him for camp in Scottsdale, Arizona in August and it was a huge success! Since then I have raced and won the Des Moines Escape Triathlon and the Lake Geneva Escape Triathlon and came second at the IMG Beijing International Triathlon. I am really enjoying having the Olympic distance races back on the circuit!
The next two months are very busy for me as I will be living out of my suitcase. I head to Kona on Oct 6th for training camp with Chris and also for opportunities to meet up with some of my terrific sponsors including TYR and HOKA (see below). Then I head straight to South Beach for IRONMAN 70.3 Miami. I will stay in Miami and train for Island House Triathlon as well as IRONMAN 70.3 Cartagena. It'll be a busy few weeks ahead but I am really excited to keep chasing the sunshine.
