STUNNING VIDEO ABOUT PATTERNED BEHAVIOR
Patterned Behavior (2017) by Silvia Lopez Chavez is the bright and vibrant art mural west of the Mass Ave Bridge that was commissioned by the Esplanade Association and curated and produced by  Now + There . Using stunning footage, this new video produced by Above Summit provides a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the mural, and places it in its context in the heart of Boston. You'll want to watch it over and over again!

NEW PARK MAP AND INFORMATION COMING SOON
You may have noticed foundations being installed at Park entrances for new welcome signs (rendering below). In early 2018, signs providing a detailed map and Park information will be installed on the foundations. This is part of a larger Esplanade Park Signage Plan aimed at improving the visitor experience and creating a safer, more easily navigable park system. Learn more

PLAYSPACE REPAIRS COMPLETE
Did you know that the Esplanade Association pays for repairs and maintenance at the Playspace and Stoneman playgrounds?

When two pieces of equipment were significantly damaged at the Esplanade Playspace, EA came to the rescue, ordering a new 'Cloud 9' swing and replacing the zipline. We're pleased to announce that the Playspace is now fully operational once again!
HORTICULTURE HAPPENINGS
Have you ever noticed downed tree limbs after a big storm?  Strong winds and heavy rain/snow can damage trees, especially those that are older or structurally weak. An essential way to keep trees healthy and safe for Park users is pruning! Through a collaborative process involving the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), the Esplanade Association (EA) annually contracts with local tree care experts to complete pruning work in accordance with the most recent American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards for tree care.

Starting today (Tues 12/19), until the beginning of January, Bartlett Tree Experts will be in the Park pruning trees between the Union Boat House and Community Boating Inc. Read our newest blog post for more information about this work.
