Quick Summer Thought from the Rabbi
Parshat Matot-Masei
This Monday is Rosh Chodesh Menachem Av, which marks the beginning of the Nine Days. We escalate our current mourning period  to a higher observance as we will refrain from eating meat, drinking wine, engaging in water activities and more.

Rosh Chodesh is always a happy day.  How do we combine a day of happiness with a day of mourning?

How do we as Jews handle moments of happiness during our personal periods of mourning and vice versa?
