What a week! Shabbat - Memorial Day - Shavuot and now Shabbat again. It certainly feels like a repeat whirlwind of sorts.
One may get that same impression when reading the bulk of this week's Parsha. The reason Naso is so long (176 pesukim - the longest single Parsha in the Chumash) is the reading of the Korban Hanesi'im. We read how each day after the dedication of the Mishkan, for twelve days, the prince of each tribe brought exactly the same offering. The Torah could have just given us a summary, but instead, we have twelve full paragraphs with tremendous detail.
When it comes to the service of Hashem, we cannot speak only in general terms. Indeed, so much of what we do is found in the details. The mundane, rote details filled with nitty-gritty is where the challenge of faith can be found. Too many generations have opted to forego the details in exchange for big, lofty ideals. Sadly, they have vanished because they missed this important point.
So much Shabbat. So much Chag. That is exactly the point!
Shabbat Shalom
