This Shabbat we bless the new month of Nissan. That means Pesach is coming. There is just no getting around that fact. We may have been in Shoprite recently and we may have seen the Passover aisles set up (before Purim!), but we may have also run by quickly so we would not have to deal with THAT reality!
When we hear the words "Rosh Chodesh Nissan Yihyeh B'Yom Hashlishi....." we know it's coming.
Preparation is the most important part of Pesach. I just want to remind everyone to make the RIGHT kind of preparation. Yes, we must clean and shop and cook and travel. I know. But how many times have you finally made it to the Seder only to Plotz from exhaustion?
Aside from the usual preparations, I think everyone should make a concerted effort to prepare for the actual Seder by reading a Hagaddah (there are about a million available now) or coming up with a good question for the tale. Assign a Torah task to each one of your guests in advance so that there will be built in meaning. And most of all, don't forget to enjoy the Seder!
This is a rare golden opportunity for so many of us to be able to transmit our message of tradition to those who need it most. Don't waste the chance.
Shabbat Shalom
