Maynard Evans High School Community Brief
Thursday, December 23, 2021
Evans Community Member,

Welcome to Evans High School, "A Place of High Achievement" where our focus is on literacy, rigor and relationships. Our school's pillars of pride, determination and perseverance continue to be on display daily by our students, staff and community.

This Monday officially began our winter break with classes resuming on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. From our family to yours, all the best for a wonderful, safe and healthy winter break. I encourage all of our Trojans, their families, our teachers, and our support staff to get in some quality down time and enjoy a number of holiday season experiences with family & friends.

Let us use this time to rejuvenate and recharge our batteries. When we come back in 2022, let us continue to take care of each other, and double down on our efforts to make this a great school year.

The second semester will take intense focus, and an “all hands on deck” approach. I’m grateful for the teaching professionals that work with our kids each day. I want to thank our parents and families for the outstanding support we have received and ask that you continue to support us in the coming year.

Thank you once again for everyone's ongoing support. On behalf of the Evans High School administrative team, I wish you happiness, good health, and peace. I look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday, January 4 set for a successful start to 2022!

Mr. Bailey

Holiday Food Distribution
This past Saturday morning, Evans High School was a beacon for families in the Pine Hills Community. The 2021 Holiday Food Distribution sponsored by Second Harvest Food Bank was from 10am - 12 noon. However, the work began well before the 10am start time of the event. Months of planning of the delivery of food and supplies along with the coordination of volunteers led to the event's success.

With over 600 Holiday food packages distributed by over 100 Evans High School student volunteers, 30 administrators, faculty, and Staff, Evans High School was able to be a beacon for our Pine Hills Community. We also had a very special volunteer from the ELC (OCPS Educational Leadership Center), Dr. Vazquez, Deputy Superintendent. Thank you to all who helped!
