Maynard Evans High School Community Brief
Tuesday, April 20, 2021
Evans Community Member,

Thank you for your commitment to making Evans High School, "A Place of High Achievement." Our focus is on Literacy, Rigor, and Relationships and our school's pillars of Pride, Determination, and Perseverance continue to be on display by our students, staff and community.

Trojans, please join me in recognizing our unwavering, dedicated BLA’s. I have been blessed to work with amazing BLA’s. A group of individuals who have uniquely made countless contributions to the success of our Evans High community.

I am sure you all are aware that our BLA’s perform numerous roles that contribute to the daily operations of running Evans High. Consistently they are tasked with moving from one thing to the next, as most of their day is not planned for them. Respectfully, Evans BLA’s embrace the fact that more is expected and the work is non-stop. Multi-tasking is a skill that they all must possess in order to be effective at Evans High School. They all do this exceptionally well!

Conversely, they challenge me to be better but they are also sponges. All of them are open to learning and developing; not only from what I share but from the experiences that they have with staff, students and parents.

Our BLA’s work long hours, tend to a voluminous amount of email, answer phone calls, and handle numerous challenges. Therefore, I want to take the time and thank Mrs. Hodge, Mrs. Kreider, Mrs. Nelson-Warren, Ms. Smith, Mr. Truitt and Mrs. Waugh.

Their work has a highly significant impact on students, staff members, parents, and the EHS community.

Thank you for all you do!

Go Trojans!

Mr. Bailey
Proud Principal

Trojan Athletics
Lady Trojans Lacrosse
The amazing story of the Lady Trojan Lacrosse team continues to take center stage of athletics in Pine Hills. The mighty Trojans ended the year winning 3 out of his last 4 matches of the 2020-2021 season.

On Friday, the Lady Trojans defeated Tohopekaliga HS 10-6. Coach Koi Slaughter was very excited about the Lady Trojan Lacrosse Team entering district play-offs against Dr. Phillps HS on Monday, April 12 at Dr. Phillips HS where they were victorious. This win is historical for the Lady Trojans as the first time ever our Lady Trojans have ever won a play-off game!

Coach Slaughter also believes that the future in Lacrosse at Evans is extremely bright for many of the underclassmen Trojans who have contributed to this year's success led by sophomore Tationna Jackson along with juniors Delicia Lawrence and Aaliyah Gilroy.
The Lady Trojan Lacrosse program has finished the 2021 season with a winning record!
