If more than 25% of your commercial or residential roof is damaged from a storm, or other damage from a weather event, you are entitled to a replacement of your roof or the entire roof section. The definition of a roof section is two sides of a sloping roof. If you have damage to less than 25% of your roof, you can repair or patch that damage. If that repair or patch fails before 12 months is over, the entire roof has to be replaced. Why is this important for you to know? Sometimes, insurance companies are only willing to pay for that minimal repair or patch to solve your problems with roof damage. If you believe that the roof damage is more extensive, get a second opinion from a licensed public adjuster or roofer (like Evans Roofing). |
