The Sound Environment has been a passionate REL dealer for many years.  We have come to appreciate what REL subwoofers can do. Not just for home theater where woofers are a ubiquitous aspect of any multi-channel home theater audio system, but in stereo music systems as well.

A RELevent Difference

Subwoofers have gotten a bad name amongst music lovers because most of them just produce high levels of highly distorted low frequencies.  If all you want is to be impressed by some general low frequency noise related to an explosion in a movie, any woofer may work.

REL woofers are low distortion, quick woofers that keep time with the music as well as provide impact to reproduce a big bass drum or explosion. REL has a unique double input system that provides not just the traditional line level woofer input associated with home theater applications, the LFE (Low Frequency Effects) channel, but also a speaker level input that takes the same signal that goes to your main speakers and processes it as an input to the woofer.  This ability, when properly utilized, not only provides greater clarity and impact for bass material in music and low frequency material in film, but also has the amazing ability to improve clarity in the midrange.

Getting More Out of Your REL

At The Sound Environment, we have learned to micro-position the woofer and adjust the input controls for accurate reproduction of music and film. This is part of any REL woofer installation we do, whether using the amazing little REL T Zero or the ultra dramatic Sound Environment World Class Woofer System. This system involves six of REL's best woofers, the G1, in a special configuration. Three G1's are stacked to the outside of the left and right front speakers for maximum coupling and impact. This woofer system has to be heard, to be believed. It will be on display in our new World Class Home Theater System beginning next week.

In total, REL has ten woofer models ranging in price from $499 to $4499. We have all of them on display.  Our configurations range from a single woofer in a stereo music system to nine woofers in our new World Class Home Theater System.

The new REL S series replaces the R series and offers a performance improvement as well as new wireless connectivity options.
