RAIN OR SHINE! THE 5TH ANNUAL KIDS CREATIVE ARTS STREET FAIR ON THE SQUARE
Join us Saturday, August 12 from 10 AM to 2 PM as we celebrate the creative arts with the Street Fair on the Square! This is the fifth year for this family activity-sponsored by Market House Theatre -where over a dozen Paducah non-profit arts and culture organizations will provide a wide variety of "hands on" experiences!
The event will be held on Market House Square, between the MHT Box Office and Yeiser Art Center. Children of all ages may choose between the many booths offering crafts, art, drama, music, games, stories, dance-and-just fun!
In the MHT Theatre & Studio Theatre there will be several interactive sessions for kids featuring theatre games, improv, and performances by the HA! Teen Comedy Improv Troupe.
In addition, MHT will have a make-your-own tie-dye t-shirt booth,* and the PlayTime Interactive Theatre Troupe will perform a FREE show of The Boy Who Cried Wolf in our Studio Theatre at 11:30 am. MHT will also have a booth for children to explore theatrical sound effects and an area for dressing up in costumes and taking your photo against some of our scenic backdrops. Costumed strollers will add to the festive atmosphere!

One of the most respected vocalists to emerge during the urban cowboy era, John Conlee was known for his superb taste in material and his distinctively melancholy voice. Conlee was born and raised on a tobacco farm in Versailles, KY, in 1946, and took up the guitar as a child, performing on local radio at age ten. He went on to sing with the town barbershop chorus, but didn't initially pursue music as a career, instead becoming a licensed mortician.

Archaeology Festival at Wickliffe Mounds

September is Kentucky Archaeology Month and in recognition, Wickliffe Mounds will have special demonstrations
and hands-on activities for learning about how archaeology happens, at a kid's level. Featured activities include a

Arts in the Community Exhibition 2017
The Icehouse Gallery in Mayfield is announcing a "Call to Artists" for this year's Arts in the Community Exhibition. I
There is no entry fee and you need not be a member of the Art Guild to participate. Artwork may be priced for sale; the Gallery retains 30% of all sales so price your work accordingly.
Works will be received from Saturday, July 1 through Saturday, July 8. Each artist may bring up to two works and they must be framed and must have a wire or clip on the back and be ready for hanging. We will accept 2D and 3D works; photography, paintings, drawings, watercolors, literary works and sculptures are all welcome, but you will need to contact the Gallery in advance if the sculpture you plan to submit is unusually large. At the conclusion of the show, artwork must be picked up from Saturday, September 2 thru Saturday, September 9.
A reception for the exhibition will be held 5-7pm on Friday, July 14. Light refreshments will be served and the public is cordially invited to attend. The Icehouse Gallery is located at 120 North 8th Street, one block north of Broadway and the courthouse square, in Mayfield, Kentucky. Hours are 10 until 5 Tuesday through Friday and 10 until 1 on Saturday. Admission to the Gallery is always free.
