Hello Yoginis and Yogis,

As the trees let go of the leaves, we let go of the summertime and embrace the autumn season.

In your yoga practice this could mean building strength and resilience, opening your shoulders and chest to avoid the colder weather hunch, or taking things a little slower with a more reflective practice.

As the Autumn draws in, this is a time for nourishment, perhaps sleeping more, taking stock and making time for yourself.

But we will still be busy here at Rise Yoga HB, so here are the upcoming October and November events. We hope to see you there!

Namaste!

YOGA WORKSHOPS
YOGA MYTH BUSTERS

Friday, October 20th, 7:45PM

When it comes to yoga there can be a lot of fluff, or metaphorical sayings/teachings that teachers use to deepen the experience of the students in class. Sometimes this fluff is like candy, it tastes and sounds sweet but there’s no nutritional value. It’s important for teachers to understand a little bit of the science behind yoga so that when we make claims in our class there is authenticity! Come join us as we look at some of the science of yoga and open your third eye to some common myths and practices along the way!

AVOIDING COMMON YOGA INJURIES

Friday, October 27th, 7:45PM

As with life and any sort of physical activity, yoga has risks involved with it. However, it’s not something that’s often talked about because yoga likes to live in the realm of positivity and light. There’s also a disconnect in realizing that a physical practice of yoga can cause injury because so many people gravitate to yoga to better their health. In this lecture we’ll explore some of the ways injuries commonly occur in a yoga class, and how you as a teacher can do your very best to prevent these injuries and create a strong, healthy, and safe environment for your students.
