California's SUCCESS is attributed to the fact that Children are TAUGHT to Think Creatively.

     ART taught in Schools is considered to be the primary factor for developing creative thinking in children.

There is SO Much going on in Trinity County this weekend that I have decided to send this Email as an overview of the weekend as I understand it from the newspaper and emails.

 (Please note that I may have missed something and I may have made errors as I am blasting this out without my many levels of proofing.  Sorry.  Please excuse me if I missed you.)

I am also creating a special Eblast for the Art Cruise and one for Ravenswood Upon The Gleann with the entertainment schedule. Those emails will follow separately.

May 1 - Free Range String Band at Barking Mad, Weaverville
Come enjoy old-time Appalachian string band tunes and vintage country songs and story telling, by the Free Range String Band.  Karel Hendee and her husband, Jonathan, sing and play fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar bass and harmonium to a foot stomping beat. You will want to get up and dance!

Advance tickets of $8.00, or $10.00 at the door.  Tickets are available at Main Street Gallery or Our Space Gallery.

Performance begins at 7:00 p.m.


May 1 - 3 Trinity Alps Chamber Music - Spring Classics   
CONCERTS ARE  FREE

Friday: 7:00 pm  Hyampom Community Hall
Saturday: 7:00 p.m. Trinity Alps Performing  Arts Center, Weaverville.
Sunday: 2:00 p.m.Old City Hall, Redding
 
The Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival starts its fifth season off with a program of upbeat, dramatic and lyrical classics, with a series of three free public concerts.

FEATURING: Francis Poulenc, Zoltan Kodaly, Antonio Vivaldi, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

 

 

May 2 - "COWGIRLS" dinner theater at the Redbud Theater, Willow Creek
Redbud Theatre continues their 2015 season with Cowgirls, a musical comedy with book by Betsy Howie, music and lyrics by Mary Murfitt. Starting with the Gala Opening Dinner Show on May 2nd and continuing with weekend shows through May 17, Cowgirls is a fun show for the entire family in the great Redbud tradition.

May 2 - North Fork Grange May Faire,  Junction City Park.  
Faire begins at 10 a.m. with crafts, food, games, kids' arm wrestling, and music. May Pole Dance at 1 p.m.

Come celebrate Spring in the Trinity Alps with good old fashion family FUN.



May 2 - 3 Ravenswood Upon the Gleann Celtic Fair, Lee Fong Park in Weaverville .  
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Sunday: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Welcome to a land of chivalry and enchantment.  In the mystical forests of Northern California, the Middle Ages are alive and well!

 

You're invited to experience them yourself for a weekend of magic and adventure.  Witness armored knights.  Hear the clash of steel as warriors test their mettle by force of arms.  Celebrate the Spring harvest with music, dancing and period entertainments.  Sample a variety of fine foods and noble drinks.  Stroll the streets of our market town and inspect the wares of dozens of craftsmen and artisans.

May 2 - Art Cruise,   on Main Street in Down Town Weaverville.  
The art venues open with their new monthly art exhibit at their normal business hours. Look for the new Art Flags to designate the Art Cruise Venues.

Artist Receptions are held between 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

You may pick up a flyer at any of the Art Cruise venues to learn of the other venues.

We will Blast the Art Cruise with pictures of the many artists and venues soon.
