Our team at Communities In Schools brings their best every day to help students overcome challenges and prepare to live their very best lives. We're not afraid to put our hearts on the line for our students and show them the power of love. You can be part of this collective love for our community's children, too:  Join us for one or all of these special events or contact us at volunteer@cischarlotte.org to learn other ways you can spread the love. Let's go #AllinforKids together in 2018!   Happy Valentine's Day!

Volunteer Spotlight: Chad Lloyd
Impacting Students through Social Capital
Spend just 30 minutes with Chad Lloyd and one will quickly see that he is a man on a mission. His enthusiasm and passion fuel the conversation. Chad says he feels compelled to share with others all the grace that has been shown to him over the years, and based upon his past endeavors, he appears to be well on his way. He's done mission work in El Salvador and Rwanda with Living Water International and will soon be traveling to Haiti with the organization, and he serves on the Global Impact committee at his church, Matthews United Methodist. Fortunately for Communities In Schools, Chad is currently focusing much of his energy and attention on CIS students at Harding University High School.   Read More

"CIS Success Coach" Training is Feb. 20
Our next "Success Coach" training will be Tuesday, February 20 from 5:30 - 8:30 pm at the Children & Family Services Center, 601 E. 5th Street. The purpose of this fun and interactiveevening is to provide in-depth training for our volunteers to ensure they feel equipped and confident as they build relationships with students and help them develop skills in goal setting and decision making. Contact Yeeva Cheng at volunteer@cischarlotte.org for more information, or click here to register.

Big Thanks to our "Give Kids A Smile" Partners!
February 2nd was a day worth smiling about! We are so grateful to our local partners that make possible the annual Give Kids A Smile Day, where dental practices provide free dental services to children in need. Nearly 60 CIS students received services on February 2, thanks to Mecklenburg County Health Dept., the Junior League of Charlotte, and the dental practices listed below.
