Dina LaVigna Breath of Life Fund  is dedicated to the loving memory of Dina LaVigna, a very special person diagnosed with Primary Immunodeficiency (PI). PI is a set of hereditary disorders that is caused by a defect in genes responsible for the development of the immune system and afflicts over 10,000,000 people worldwide. The mission of the Fund is to improve the care and comfort of PI patients, many of them very young, by improving the patient experience in hospitals.

Thank you for registering for the 19th Annual Breath of Life Ventura Triathlon/Relay!
See below for important information for this weekend. We will have race weekend packet pickup and registration available on Friday 1pm-5:30 (optional) and Saturday starting at 5:30am. Please tell your friends.

You may also receive a separate email from  Gemini Timing  with pre-race info and your bib number to make for easier packet pick up.  Click the logo below for your bib number (available Thursday afternoon).  This will also be your results link after the race!

Packet Pick-up:  Two opportunities to obtain your race packet:
  • Friday, May 19 - Race packet pick-up will be from 1:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. at the race site at the northernmost point on Spinnaker Dr, along the ocean, in Ventura Harbor, CA
  • Saturday, May 20 -  Race packet pick-up will begin at 5:30 a.m. at the race site (same as above)
A race crew member will be available for any course questions during packet pickup starting at 2pm. 

Predicted Temperature: Low 57/High 73
Predicted Water Temperature: 58-60 Degrees

Join us in the Beer Garden after the race for a Lagunitas Brew! Celebrate your accomplishment and download your race details with your buddies. Everyone receives their 1st Beer Free and can purchase a 2nd Beer for $5 with all proceeds going to Dina LaVigna Breath of Life Fund.

Important Reminders!
Triathlon Participants: 

1. All athletes are required to show a photo ID. NO ID, NO RACE, NO EXCEPTIONS. Every single participant, including relay participants, must have a photo ID. Youth athletes without an ID must be accompanied by a parent/guardian with a photo ID.  Annual members are required to bring their membership card every time they compete in a USAT sanctioned event. 

2.  Athletes may only pick up their own packets. Under no circumstances may an athlete pick up a packet for another person. A ll relay members must be present to receive the packet, or split up the relay packet for each participant.
3.  If an athlete does not bring a photo ID to packet pickup there are two options :
  • Go home to get it
  • Have someone email/fax them a copy of their photo ID
  4. If an athlete does not bring a USAT membership card to packet pickup there are three options :
  • Go home to get it
  • Find internet access where a temporary card can be printed from the USAT website.
  • Purchase a one-day membership which can later be applied to a membership renewal by submitting a receipt of purchase
  • Download the USAT Membership Card app on iTunes  or Google Play

Once you enter the Harbor and come down Spinnaker Drive look for staff and signs to guide you into the designated lots at: Ventura Harbor Village Shopping Center, 1583 Spinnaker Dr., Ventura, CA 93001 
*Parking is FREE and PLEASE take a look at the map below as not all lots are available for event use.

Signs will be posted "NO PARKING" in Ventura Isle Marina Parking lot (participants will be towed!)

Exiting the Race Venue Via Spinnaker Drive - No Cycling Permitted - You will be Ticketed and Disqualified

Venue Address:  Harbor Cove Beach, Ventura, CA

The course routes for the Olympic and Sprint triathlons are fast, flat and scenic. 

Transition Area

Swim Course

Olympic Swim - 1.5K (.93 miles)

The swimming portion of the Olympic Triathlon/Relay will be held inside the Ventura Harbor. Olympic participants will complete TWO laps of the swim course; exiting the water after the Lap One, crossing a timing pad and re-enter the water for a Lap Two.


Sprint Swim - 750M (.47 miles)

The swimming portion of the Sprint Triathlon/Relay will be held inside the Ventura Harbor. Sprint Participants will complete ONE lap of the swim course.


Wetsuits will be allowed. The water temperature is expected to be between 58-60 degrees.


Please Note:  ABSOLUTELY no practice swimming inside Ventura Harbor.   



Bike Course

Sprint Bike - 20.4K (12.7 miles) - Sprint bikers will make this loop ONLY ONCE.

Olympic Bike - 40K (24.8 miles) - Olympic Bikers MUST complete the Gonzales-Victoria-5th-Harbor loop 3 TIMES

Run Course

Sprint Run - 5K (3.1 miles) - The running portion of the Sprint Triathlon/Relay will begin and end in Ventura Harbor. At the halfway point (1.55 miles) participants turn around and return to the Finish Line at the venue.


Olympic Run - 10K (6.2 miles) - The running portion of the Olympic Triathlon/Relay will begin and end in Ventura Harbor. Runners will leave the Transition Area and take spinnaker Drive towards Harbor Drive then head south. At the halfway point (3.1 miles) participants turn around and return to the Finish Line at the venue.  


Run Course Support:  Aid Stations throughout the course will have Water and Nuun. We will have Honey Stinger gels and blocks.
