Patty Gray is a renowned glass artist and one of the most respected teachers in the world. She has been involved in the hot glass arts since the earliest days of the studio glass movement. Her artistic focus has been on fused and cast glass artwork of all scales, including architectural installations in major hotels and public buildings. She has also built an extraordinary record as an instructor in the kiln arts, and seems to be everywhere at once, carrying the torch of kiln-working and glass blowing to students at workshops around the world.

When you take a Patty Gray class, you're going to learn skills to help you develop and express your artistic style.

Patty's class is going to help you break out of the typical kiln-formed mold by learning skills that can make you one of those people who inspire
.
In the intermediate class, you'll create several styles of glass components and other unique elements to make your glass art stand apart; you'll comb molten glass; you'll also use molds and auxiliary glass in new ways.

The intermediate class will be a fast-paced series of one technique after another. Here are the projects and skills you can expect to learn:
Create 8x10 Tray Mold Design for Plate or Roll-up
Make a Long Pattern Bar
Make a Pattern Bar Slab
Make a 2-Color Pattern Bar in a Glass Box
Pull Vitrigraph Stringer
Use Murrini Molds and Triangle Molds
Make a Round Pattern Bar

Mark Hufford is Coming to Harmony!

We are partnering with Mark Hufford for a special Fusing Experience in June.
We are delighted that Mark wants to share his painting and fusing skills with
all of you, and pleased that he has chosen Harmony as a venue.
Here are a few examples of his previous work.

Mark Hufford - Rolling River Rocks
This is One of the Projects We'll Be Doing in Mark's Class

Mark is an artist, freelance graphic designer, art instructor and small business owner. He hails from Perrysburg, Ohio, and has lived in Texas for over 30 years.

He has been drawing since the age of 4 and his passion in art is using graphite while exploring every nuance and technique with pencil and paper. He enjoys teaching beginners in drawing, painting and fusing, with an emphasis on how to observe and see things differently in life.

In addition to running a family business, he teaches private drawing and art instruction to individuals with that desire to be creative and learn.  His latest passion is using multiple and varied techniques with "Colors for Earth" glass paints on fused glass.  Glass fusing offers Mark a new arena to showcase his considerable artistic skills and enjoy teaching at the same time.

This class will be a three day event, June 24th, 25th and 26th.  The cost is $465 per person, and limited to twelve students.  A deposit of $150 will be required to hold your space.  The balance will be due before class starts.
